BBC local TV announced on Monday that the weather conditions were right for Sahara dust to be blown up to the UK and that we could expect some nice sunrises and sunset. So I set the alarm for 6am and captured this of the sun rising over Torbay with the added bonus of it being framed at this time of year between Thatcher Rock and the Torquay headland.
I submitted it to the BBC who were kind enough to include it in the small sample they broadcast on Tuesday.
Also, the Flickr bots have declared it 'Explore' worthy so it's been getting some attention.
It's a light HDR to avoid burning out the sun but everything else is just how stunning the lightshow was.
