    A Passing Shot

Just dropping in again to admire your pictures after a very busy month. A great break from staring at numbers on the screen.

Had a conversation a few days ago about a trip I and an old mate made some years ago to Orkney and Shetland and it brought to mind this picture.
The ferry from Orkney leaves around midnight and arrives in Shetland around 6:30 am. We'd booked reclining seats in the quiet cabin in the hope of getting a bit of shut eye. I woke up in the early hours and noticed the light outside so went out on deck. So glad I did.

Some of my favourite places, Orkney and Shetland. Early morning or twilight are magical times in those places. Nice image that shows you don't need cutting edge gear. My 60D still produced good images.

Really like the contrast between the cool of the water and the clouds to the rising sun. Great picture.
