    Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie.

I wasn't planning on taking a picture of Ruthven Barracks as I was just passing while taking a scenic route back to Skye after a couple of days in Aviemore, but when is saw the light I had to stop.

That was really worth stopping for. The contrast between the golden light on the stone and the foreboding sky works so well

Too right you did - and it was well worth it.

Superb image Martin, the illuminated castle really stands out against the foreboding sky.

                Thanks for your comments.

At least this picture made up for missing a shot the day before of Cairngorm lit up by the setting sun because I was in the wrong place at the right time.

One if those moments that can pass so quickly. Nice capture the sky makes a great backdrop.

I really love that light/dark balance - a stormy sky often makes a good backdrop.
