    View from Millstone Hill

I went out for a wee walk in the hills the other day.
The weather was a bit overcast but bright which was great for landscapes.
I had to add 0.9 and 0.6 Lee soft ND grads to hold back the sky but I liked the way the soft light brought out the colours of the heather and trees.

Oh how I wish Canon would bring out a CSC system with the IQ of the 5D2. Lugging a DSLR kit up hills is back breaking but I never want to leave anything at home - just in case.

A super shot and one I would also try as B&W.

Lovely image, and has been stated great depth of field, not so common to see landscape images in portrait format.

                  Thanks Folks
I quite like portrait format landscapes. I feel that they pull you into the image IYKWIM??

I'll be back there in a few weeks for the Autumn colours.
If its anything like last year we'll be in for a treat.

indeed. I do persevere and lug my 40D and 17-40L slung around my neck ready for action up hill and down dale … trying to scramble with that weight going like a pendulum swinging is very ungainly. With anything up to 20kg in my backpack I do sometimes think when there’s a force 8 blowing that I shouldn’t be interested in photography !!
