    Local landscape shots

Here are four pics taken today while in between dodging downpours on my mountain bike:

    Hi Colin,
Nice Landscape shots with good compositions. Obviously they could be made special with nice warm evening lighting. I am not a landscape photographer but perhaps a grad ND filter would have helped in shots 2/3 to keep the skys darker, I am sure further comments could confirm this.

Personally I would get closer to a foreground element yet still aiming to use it for 1/3rd of the frame.

    Graham.

      Hi Graham
Thanks for your comments and advice, I'll have to get myself a couple of grad ND filters.

you might be able to recover some sky detail using software - aperture or such like has a highlights control - or selectively use a burn brush over the sky area...4 is not completely blown out white.

          Hi Brian

I shot them in raw and I did recover what I could in ACR with the recovery slider, I've never tried using the burn brush, thanks for the advice.
It's a place I pass through almost weekly, so I think I need to either wait for better lighting or start to carry some filters.
          Thanks for looking
