    Bruges Canal Scenes

We spent a few days in Bruges last week and what a beautiful city with great architecture and canals. Even in late September it was very busy so little chance of doing the main buildings photographic justice as early or late there was always either a tour bus or a dust cart to spoil the view so we concentrated on views of the canals and canal side dwellings. All shot either with a 17-85 EF-S or 10-22 EF-S on a 7D and hand held as although we took tripods (and all our other kit !!) it was too hot to drag them around all day long

Looks like a very pretty location, I have passed through Bruges but never had an opportunity to stop and look around.

These are great photos Stan and you have done justice to a wondefrul place.
I believe that Bruges was actually "missed" by both world wars which is why there are so many beautiful buildings.

          Thanks guys

We were very lucky with the weather although there were only the nice white puffy clouds on the first day - first two shots

The first photograph must be one of the most photographed locations. Got that one from a visit 12 years ago.

we did the standard canal trip - I was surprised that there were no other boats on the canals

you are right it is the most photographed location, just close to where the majority of the tourist boats start

Very nice images of what looks like a very nice location, even the weather was kind for you, the colours really "pop" when the sun shines like that.

in fact out of the camera some of them were too vibrant and had to be de saturated slightly

Do like the last one with the row of houses reflecting in the water.
