Simple Lighting

Can't remember if I posted any of Ayla before. This is my partner (Sharon's) great neice

Ayla was about 2 or 3 weeks old at the time and I had bought some white material from a little shop in Hamilton and covered my baby poser (and her) with it. I liked this :)

Very simple lighting. Single light shot through a large softbox. Background is a black bottletop cover over my Lastolite Hilite.

A delightful, on the face of it simple shot. Which is why it works so well.

Covering the lips and chin adds a little mystery.

Thanks Colin. That was why I liked it too. but it's funny the images the parents choose :) They wanted one with the whole face - but I preferred this one :)

I'll post a couple more when I get home which were all the same lighting and done in my relatively cramped living room at home.

Once you understand the basics it's not that hard to create something like this. I'd love to be more creative though! I'm still learning a lot as I guess we all continue to do - Biggest problem for me is the lack of any decent space.....maybe one day :)
