Like it Ian with the framing leading right through the image.

Did you consider replacing the bland sky ?

      thanks Stan

no I didn't try replacing the size as it was so small, but its something I could look at, cheers

        Re: The Alley

The quality of composition and processing we've come to expect Ian with great tones and leads True, though, that sky while being small does become my eyes ultimate destination.

          Re: The Alley

I like the processing but for me there is too much dark space around the tunnelled the detail in the buildings is pushed too far away. I think it would be better losing a lot of the top a bit off the bottom and some of the righthand side. Then maybe the sky wouldn't be quite so obvious.

very nice image Ian, I do like this style of capture. I would agree with Wayne's comment about cropping it a bit, but of course this is your image and is as you saw it.

              Re: The Alley

If I was going to crop anything I'd lose some off the top as its very dark and heavy and presses down on the rest of the composition (there's more visible in the flickr version but still too heavy). A nice 5x4 crop I think...

Even I'd do something about the sky though...

cheers for the feedback guys - I'll have a look at this

tonight was my first night out alone and wanted to get get some sunset shots at a local rice field, interesting thing was when driving home I found this amazing house with stunning reflections, if it works out it could be a great shot, but won't know until tomorrow - although it was very odd being out without my photo buddy standing next to me, but I was still talking to her just in case she could her me, anyone seeing me would have thought I was mad but I dont care

I like the vignetting as it helps move the eye into the image. Well done Ian

I like this shot a lot Ian, if you do any more work on it, might be an idea to clone out the pot just showing at the far end.

Second comment from me on this and one in support of the darkness at the top as it serves to emphasise the tunnel effect I think you may have been after. I do agree about cloning out that half a pot, though.

                        Cheers,

thanks guys for all your possitive feedback on this image - personally I like the large amount of darkness leading to light, but I can see what people mean - yes Dave that pot will go
