Re: Bangor & beyond (North Wales)
Some nice shots Nathaniel and I really do like the Menai bridge.
You mention that the 10 - 20mm is difficult, but if you learn to use it creatively you can get some wonderful shots, not available with other lenses. Get it very close to a foreground item, often low down, stop the lens down to f16, or f22 and manually focus around a third of the way into the shot and then see the results. You may need to use a tripod, remote release and grad filters, but that is part of the learning process for this type of ultra wide lens.
Alex's recent shot of the rusty rings in the foreground, with a misty Holy Isle in the background springs to mind. The foreground just dominates the shot in a way that you could never make happen with the human eye.
That's the way to get these lenses to work for you.

Re: Bangor & beyond (North Wales)
Thanks Colin,Ian,Raj,Andy for you comments. I think the weather is to be thanked for the colours. Also I am pleasantly surprised at the versatility of my Sigma 10-20- DOF, focussing etc.
Colin thanks for your tips on using the Super wide. I know that I have to be very careful of converging verticals when using this lens, as I don't want to spend time with PSE correcting curving lines on buildings.

Re: Bangor & beyond (North Wales)
Went there last year.
I missed the moat at Beaumaris, must of been on the other side of the castle.
That lake is definately the Menai Strait.
I remember seeing the Bangor pier from Beaumaris.
and .. Llanfair********* certainly needs an UWA lens.
Great set Nat, thanks for sharing with us.
