    Y Bala

Well Sunday was Llandrillo to Y Bala (11miles). The forest walk part was shared with a (legal) motorbike motocross event which shared our path! Very exciting!! Typical of Welsh Wales ... one footpath blocked by a field of frisky bullocks, and several paths just couldn't be found. Normal lack of signage in many places. Oh and a downed bridge. So quite eventful.

    1. Thingymajig for a whatchamacallit

    2. One of the Motocross chaps (once we got out the forest)

    3. Panorama (I think that's the craggy Moel Siabod in the distance)

    9 image stitch (ICE). Manual f/5.6 1/500 ISO-200

    4. Stream near Bwlch-yn-horeb

Cropped (the RHS was blown). f/4 1/30 ISO-200

    5. Llyn Tegid

    5 Image stitch (ICE). Manual f/5.6 1/1250 ISO-200

    6. The Route

    40D plus 17-40L as normal.

Feel free to report any technical or narrative blunders.

    Thanks for stopping by.

    Hi MX,

I like 1-3 and 5, with 5 shading it for me.

You could use number 1 as Guess what this implement is comp!!, it makes the shot though.

I think for the Stream shot to have really worked you would have had to do a bit of climbing down and looking at the moss covered rocks I can see why you didn't risk it.

    Regards Paul

Sounds like you had a 'fun' day, thanks for the Monday morning fix. I really like #1 and #5 but in #1 would crop most of the sky out as there is little detail in it and the main focus is on you Thingymajig for a whatchamacallit

The usual high standards. I prefer the one with the biker as it has a focal point. However, the other landscapes too are nice.

          Some great shots MX5.
Llyn Tegid is welsh for Bala lake (I had to look it up).
Looks like a perfect autumn morning for walking and blue sky too.

Thanks Paul, Muscat, Nat, Stephen and Tom

What #1 is for has me perplexed. Especially as it was in the middle of a field. I'm thinking its a mechanism from, a skip lorry (well clutching at straws!).

That stream was in severe shade ... and would have been too dangerous to approach from where I took the photo.

Tom - yes 'neat' this one didn't exactly go to plan and I was leading. In some parts of Welsh Wales they just don't like walkers/ramblers. So paths vanish without trace, obstacles are placed in the way, ... but just certain parts not all of Wales.

Excellent set, as usual MX5. You deserved some good weather after what you have had to put up with recently.

                  Thanks for sharing

                      Thanks Di, Ian and hhcanon.

Di - it is wonderful walking and there are plenty of real (deciduous) trees rather than the Faux Forestry Forevergreens.

Looking at the "Monday fix" on Wednesday... oh well one of those weeks.

Usual high MX5 standard with #5 getting my vote.

#5 steals it for me, as for the names. . . . . . I will take your word for it ;-)
