    Chipping (Lancs)

Sorry for the delay - the curse of 503 again.

Sunday led a 12 mile amble across Lancashire's muddy and frozen-muddy fields with curious sheep. Look a look at Beacon Fell but views were spoilt by distant mist. So a lot of care required on icy stiles and the odd stretch of icy lane we had to use. Some seriously icy places where the sun hadn't been.

    2. Orme Sight

Orme Sight is a "very striking" sculpture by Thompson Dagnall.
    f/5.6 1/500 ISO-200

    3. Chipping has a glider field ... just G-EETH in the air

    It's a Schleicher K.8B - noise = big crop == NO NR

    4. Parlick (Fell) 1417'

Had we had sufficient time we would have done this

    5. Chipping in't mist

Pendle Hill (1827') in distance and the smoke is from the factory near Clitheroe

    6. Route

    40D plus 17-40L as usual.

Feel free to report technical & narrative blunders.

    Thanks for stopping by.

Di - Thanks and a thousand apologies and a thousand camels as compensation ... I put it down to a warp in the time-space continuum.

            Thanks Paul

Sometimes I need something with reach ... like for the glider ... buying and then carrying a 70-300L just in case is a bit extravagant. I keep looking at the 55-250 Mark II and thinking ... ummmmmm.

Ah, the good old fix. Nice ones and I plump for the STONE MAN image. In the Arabian desert they not only offer camels but fleas as well for good luck!

Thanks Nat. Didn't have time to read what that stone man was all about ... art I guess ... which I don't understand.
