    Saltburn on Sea

I guess many forum members have been already, but this was my first trip. Love the old funicular lift.

That is really nice, great image processing, the photo could have been taken 100 years ago. Nice and sharp too.

That's a nice image with good processing Peter, did you have fish and chips whilst you were there?

        Lovely sharp image Peter.
Just one comment, I think you will find the official name is Saltburn by the Sea.
        Cheers,

        Bill.

Thanks guys! Andy, I was shooting with a friend and our plan was to have an Italian to round of the evening but we left it too late and ended up at Pizza Hut! Pity as the aroma of fish and chips in Saltburn was amazing! Sorry Bill, didn’t mean to rename Teeside’s national
treasure - when I typed the title something niggled in the back of my mind that something was not quite right - should have checked!

              Re: Saltburn on Sea

I do like funicular (cliff) railways. Only a few weeks ago took a ride in one at Scarborough (three left, one working, one closed and one disused).

Unfortunately this one was not working while I was there, however it was featured in an episode of John Sergeants “ Britain's First Photo Album” which I watched a couple of days ago. There is a more modern one in the Cairngorms which I have been on a couple of times.

Great picture, processing, and timing Peter. Reminds me of childhood holidays in Bournemouth where they too have a funicular railway.
