    Foggy Path

This one has it's faults, but here it is anyway.

I took this shot earlier in the week. after being tempted outdoors at the prospect of a foggy shot. The fog here in Strensall was a real Pea Soup affair, but the nearer I got to the centre of York, the more it thinned out.

Thanks Paul. I wasn't sure about it, but Jill overruled me.

Brilliant Andy and tell Jill she is right.

That is very reminiscent of a shot I have in the back of my mind, but mine has one addition:

Man in an overcoat and wearing a trilby hat, standing next to, or leaning against the first column on the left. Facing into the shot, smoking and exhaling smoke towards the lampost.

One of many shots in my mind's eye.

Thanks Bill, Stan, Colin and Garry.

Colin, that is quite spooky. I had a mental image of shooting this, with my son leaning against the lamp-post. I actually re-visited this last night and before going out, I said to Jill that I wish David would come too and hold an umbrella in the shot.

Good moody shot Andy, I'd be tempted to crop a smidgen on the right as there is not much happening there (even in your large flickr image)

Thanks Les, that's one of the faults with it in my eyes. I did actually crop it more for this version, the original was in 3:2 format. The only reason I didn't crop it more squarely, was that I felt it threw the 1st lamp of the 3rd and effected the composition more than the dark area did.
