Re: Lewis and Harris
Cheers Tigger, this was just to test my problems loading from flickr(now sorted as edge on windows 10 does not work, was a doddle logging through my Bt account)Apart from a bit of cropping there's no editing at all. Taken in the summer with my 550d, will probably wait until the new body arrives before posting any more.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Re: Lewis and Harris
The second image is great. The light hitting the pot is perfect. Wouldn't say that needs much work at all apart from pushing the clarity to make it popAlan.

Re: Lewis and Harris
Thanks for the comments lads, will bear them in mind, my wife loves taking seascapes and often gets the horizon on a slope, we rarely use a tripod just go round zapping away. The idea is I hope to move from auto snapping to taking some more considered photographs when I go full frame.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Re: Lewis and Harris
I very rarely use a tripod other than low light or long exposures and always need to tweak the horizon or upright, but it takes one click and its sorted... Invest in a good editor:- Ian

Re: Lewis and Harris
Tigerburnie, that second image gets another from me, given no processing. Obviously taken in really difficult lighting conditions, it is about as good as you could get for a single shot out of camera, and well done for getting it at 1/6 sec if handheld. When you do get some software, and then start shooting in RAW, I think you'll be amazed at what you could do with a shot like this in terms of just selectively reducing the highlights and pulling detail from the shadows. Plus, as Tigger says, your days of sloping horizons are over.
Stick with us and we'll get you there...Canon EOS 7D
