Although I have lived in Dorset for over 40 years, I have never explored the "out of the way " places. Last year there was a talk and slideshow at camera club highlighting many such locations and at the time we bought the booklet produced by the guy (like a basic version of the Photographers Guide to London) and promptly forgot we had it. Last week it came to light and we spent Thursday and a couple of hours this morning discovering and shooting some of those hidden gems
The first is a the Chidoek catholic church, or to give its full name, the Church of our Lady, Queen of Martyrs and St Ignatius. It was built in the grounds of the local manor house so photographically the only composition is from the front
which does not really do it justice but once inside, a different matter entirely. It is very dark until you put £1 in the meter and everything then comes to life for the next half hour
view to the alter
view towards the organ
