    The Tulip Staircase

To shoot this staircase was the main purpose of our London visit last week as when we were there in the spring, the queens house was closed for refurbishment

You nailed it Stan! You found 'the spot' and got a perfect exposure The only comment I'd make is that a slight crop at the top would balance the gap to the edge with that on the left.

    Cheers,
    John

Lovely shot. Don't think I'd trim anything, just hang it on the wall.

Excellent Stan, is this one of your laying on your back on the floor to get the composition?

                thanks for looking guys.

I shot quite a few and some standing some laying flat but cant remember which this was.

I don't know whether it would be easier in the summer with more natural light but it was a real struggle with the white balance, using auto or tungsten didn't work so there was a lot of post processing to try and get the colours looking right. One of those occasions then RAW really comes into its own - a jpeg just would not have been correctable
