    Settle-Carlisle Railway - a question.

Will be in Skipton in a few weeks and whilst there fancy taking a train along the Settle-Carlisle railway.

Question - if I depart from the south (will leave from Skipton) is Appleby far enough or should I go through to Carlisle?
And another question - worth breaking the journey at Ribblehead?
Sorry, another - are there any other highlights along the journey?

Would appreciate advice from anyone with experience of this line.

    Cheers, Chris.
    Just chuggin' along.

Not been on the train but have visited the Viaduct at Ribblehead loads of time..worth a few pictures...Appleby is a small town with not alot going on unless its during the horse fair.I would go all the way to Carlisle theres plenty there to photograph.
    This is Ribblehead station

    This ones the viaduct

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!
