    Elterwater - Rydal - Ambleside

A 13 mile meander starting in Elterwater, passing through Rydal to Ambleside. Took in Loughrigg Fell and the High & Low Sweden Bridges. Warm, humid and dry until last 1/2 mile. Aside from SWMBO, I had 4 others following ... and this wasn't even a led walk.

    1. Elterwater Bridge

    2. The hills in clag

    3. Rydal Park Bridge

    4. Scandale Beck (High Sweden Bridge)

    5. The view behind (Ambleside and Windermere)

    6. The chimneys of Ambleside

Please tell me about technical blunders.

As ever 40D plus 17-40L 'Marmite' lens

Great shots from a great part of the country....never had it in me to walk that far...but been round them parts in cars.

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

This look a good place for a day out with the camera!

Thanks ... one reason I use the marmite 17-40L is its weight ... but another is its weatherproof when a filter is attached.

#1 and #3 make very good monochromes

Just had a look ... the tonal ranges of the 'green' and brick are very good. So I agree the monochromes look very good. Took me back to the FP3 / FP4 days and brewing my own ID11 :-)

I have absolutely no idea what that means!

...but I do know when I like a shot, and your rambling series' are very good! #1 and #4 for me, don't know why though. Like them all actually!

I must get back up to the Lakes sometime, but it's quite a trek, even in a car!

              All the best, mike.

FP3/FP4 was the premium (ducks flack from Kodak Pan F supporters) B&W film. ID11 was the chemistry used to develop the film.

I too like number one and three, number two looks like I'd be grateful to be at this side of the weather...
