    Scorhill Down

Another day on Dartmoor for a little jaunt around the Scorhill Down area. Starting at Scorhill Farm down to the North Teign River crossed via the Teign-e-ver Clapper Bridge. Uphill climb to Watern Tor at 1725 feet then across to Wild Tor at 1742 feet. Before traversing Gallaven Mire and following the Gallaven Brook back to Gideigh Common. Weather could have been better but a nice little seven mile moorland walk.

Wild Tor, both mentioned Tors are on the boundary of the live firing range.

Like the pics Trev, very nice, especially the first; looks like you had a lot better weather than we did. Lovely day for a walk.

Brian. Should have mentioned, there was no live firing that day. There are three Ranges on Dartmoor, Willsworthy, Merrivale and Okehampton, Notice of live firing is given on the local radio and in the press well in advance. I do however get informed well in advance owing to the photography I do in connection with them.
