    Blackaton Brook Dartmoor

Had a little yomp around the Gidleigh area of Dartmoor today. Looking over the bridge, there sitting on the large boulder below the light coloured one mid picture was an otter looking straight at me. Up with the camera - the damn thing was not switched on. missed the otter but was pleased the local vicar was not within ear shot at that moment!!!
So, here it is the Blackaton Brook near Gidleigh less the otter.

Very nice Trev- I think the air would have been blue if I'd missed an otter too!

My first view of a Pine Martin in my garden I never switched the camera on and it will take a while to forget it. So I sympathise with you, but when you have the energy to still be able to “yomp” and then take a great shot like this my sympathy disappears. If I was able to yomp over our moors I would be out of puff to even turn on the camera.

Nice shot Trev, at least you know where the Otter lives now.

Nicest picture of an otter that's not there I've seen in a while...

You found a lovely location, and photographed it well, with or without an otter.

Thanks everyone for looking and your sympathetic comments, much appreciated!!!!!
One learns by one's mistakes - I've not switched the thing off since.
Biggest disaster I ever had was on a trip to the Shetland Islands for a filming project. Had twenty 400 foot rolls and fifty 100 foot rolls of 16mm film and they put it through the X-ray at Aberdeen Airport.
I was afraid to use it, and sent back to the mainland for replacement. Eventually I found out it was OK and had not been affected.
