Whilst only 8 miles ... we walked via Causey Pike (2090'), Scar Crags (2205'), Sail (2536'), Crag Hill (2753') and Whiteless Pike (2165') so the elevation profile tells the really story. Some scrambles. Weather was perfect.
From this ridge you can see nearly every Lake District peak of note, The Pennines, Isle of Man and across the Solway into Scotland.
1. View back towards Keswick / Derwent Water and the valley to Penrith. On the far horizon you can just about make out Cross Fell (2930') the highest point on The Pennines.
2. Approach to Causey Pike (you can see the scramble ahead) ... also note the moon.
3. The Long and Winding Road
4. What a view!
(To see a bigger version Click)
5. You can even see the IoM
(It's the grey strip on the horizon, slightly left of centre)
6. Finally Crummock Water
As usual 40D plus Marmite lens. Primary task was safety as usual, followed by doing the walk and keeping in the group.
Any technical blunders or potential improvements ... I'm never too old to learn.
