    Whaley Bridge - Buxton

Did a 12.3 mile Peak District amble via Errwood done in 5 hours. Day was near perfect although recent rain had left moors a bit boggy.

    1. Toddbroke Reservoir (near Whaley Bridge)

    2. Errwood Reservoir (from West)

    3. Errwood Reservoir (from South)

    4. Errwood Hall (Ruins)

    (Story - Click Here)

    5. Windgather Rocks

(popular site for learning the basics of rock climbing)

    6. Buxton Railway Viaduct (Freight only line)

I like the way a low sun colours brickwork ... and was taken by this

As usual my 40D plus 17-40L. Please tell me about technical and narrative blunders.

    As usual great shots.
#3.. just wondering how it would look cropped to just above the foreground shadow and just above the long white cloud on the left. For me the foreground shadow doesn't add anything it is just there.
#5 puts into perspective how vast this area is.

Nice set of Images, always great to see your weekend shots, not sure I'd call 12.3 miles an "amble" and carrying camera gear, but I'm glad you do.

            Thanks everyone.

David - I (nearly) always post images as taken so folk can suggest improvements. I'll try your crop suggestion when I've a mo.

Ray - I know carrying 20kg of 'stuff' over varied terrain at 2.5 mph (+/- 1) can make the knees hurt sometimes.
