    Woodlice with MP E 65

Well I finally got an MP E 65

Here are my first trys with it. Each of these shots were made up of various numbers of stacked images. The most was 45 stacked images. I used CS5 to stack the images and a Velbon Super Mag rail for focusing

The MP E65 is an amazing piece of kit and you have done it proud. I am still surprised that with 45 stacked images, there are still areas that aren't sharp.

Colin, dont forget this is my first try (that I have shown) I only got the lens 2 days ago. I read somewhere that using an MP E 65 was like starting macro all over again. I think there is some truth in it.

First attempt you say. I'd be running around quite giddy if I'd managed to produce them.

I mean't no criticism at all Jeremy, in fact I was applauding your diligence for using so many images. On second reading of my earlier comments, it didn't quite come across as I intended.

It was merely the total lack of any depth of field with the MP E65 and those who haven't used one would assume that 45 stacked images would be more than enough to cover it. It certainly is a specialist piece of kit for the dedicated.

I recall that in the days of film, stacked images weren't an option. Whatever wasn't sharp using F45 you just had to put up with.

Colin, please please understand I did not even think there was a criticism. In fact that's what I like about this eos forum that there is non of that stuff. My answer was not meant any other ways than factual.

p.s it was on an carrot.

Or, even more fun .................... we could superglue Jak's bug and "not" photograph it.
