    Butterfly

    Sitting having a cold beer in the evening and I saw this fella alight on the neighbours plants. I waded through my weeds and managed a few shots over the fence, this being the best. I just love his tongue sticking out, sipping up the nectar. WDYT?

      Nice one Rob detail in the right place and lovely colours, so far this year I have seen very few butterflys in our garden or even in our area

        Good shot, but yes there does seem to be a shortage of Butterflies this year..

            Thanks all. Ian you are right - I put it down to all the bad weather, tho Ive seen a lot of what i think are gate keepers - do you know what this is? it had very ragged wings - id would be nice.

                  I suspect the butterfly is a Comma, judging from the shape of the wings.
                  Also, if you look at the butterfly's left wing, you can see the white comma mark... where it gets its name from.
