    Dead Romance

Bought myself a 60mm 2.8 macro lens a few days ago, to basically replace my broken 50mm 1.8.
the 60mm is quite an impressive lens. have never been into macro photography but I thought I would try a something new anyway. picked up this dried up rose and had a go. maybe not quite macro but I think a whole new world has opened up to me.
Probably would have done better with a darker background so the rose stands out more.

Like the dark centre to the rose, the twirls of leaves lead your eye in. I think the muted colours are lovely. Enjoy your new lens.

Ohh, I hope that is not what you gave your other half after you bought the 60mm (hence the title), Nice composition. Enjoy your new lens.

I not only like the shot, but I also think the background is suitable and works harmoniously with the subject.

I like it the way it is, Chodeva, and welcome to the macro world - you will start to see things differently, that's for sure!
