    Forget-me-not

I found a little clump of Forget-me-not's growing at the corner of the front step and thought they would be an ideal subject. Comments welcome.

      My favourite is #2.

I am assuming you are using your mini-studio, in which case have you looked at image stacking to get the DOF rather than pushing the lens to f32? I find that the IQ of the lens drops off over f16 and has its sweet spot around f8, therefore by stacking a number of images taken at f8 I get a better result.

Lovely colours and I like the black background, nicely lit too, just something not looking right with the focus and or sharpness of the Flowers.

Number two for me. Surprising how "hairy" the plant is.

Thanks you for your comments. Paul, focusing is something I an struggling with on some of this type of shot, I used both manual and auto settings getting the same result. The 5D is a new piece of kit for me and may be i am not setting it up quite right. Any thought would be appreciated. Muscat, I take your point and will look into trying stacking and see how I get on.

Ian, if you are using the camera on a tripod and in a studio setup why don't you use the live view and x10 magnification to set your focus? I find that works great, I also frequently use the mirror lock to also reduce the vibrations in the shot.

Have been having a bit of a play as suggested and am quite pleased with the result.

The first shot was of the flower cluster and the second getting right into the middle os a single flower head.
