    UK most Venomous Spider

Although i did not know at the time, this, a Noble False Widow Spider, is the UK's most venomous spider and I found her in the conservatory this afternoon. She was quite dozy so i was able to get her on a piece of wood and move her to a better position to shoot and set up tripod etc - had i realised she might bite i may have been more careful

Here she is - even at f 18 I didnt manage to get everything in focus

    1/20, f 18, ISO 800, 100mm

I didn't realise we had any venomous spiders in the UK - I best not tell the wife!

Strong composition as mentioned above - I'm intrigued by the gold detail on the abdomen.

        Well done Stan.

++ Stan. Glad she didn't decided to attack while you were setting up for the shot.

I like the "CROWN" insignia (looks like it) on the back. Never my kind of subject- gives me the creeps! Nice clear shot anyway.

                  thanks Steven

The NHM site was where we finally found the details having spent ages looking through all our insect books to no avail

Back looks like the pattern was painted on with gold.
