    Garden Spider - topshot!

    Just for Stan...

    Same species; different spider. I'm sure this is nothing other than a bog-standard Garden Spider - Araneus diadematus...

    Anyhow, you asked for a top-of-the-body shot... here's one hanging around outside our bedroom window...



    7D : 100 f/2.8 (non-IS) Macro : manual : 1/80 f/8 ISO400

              The outside chap is being way more successful than the one in the garage (as you might expect!)

              It's currently tucking into a nice juicy ladybird for lunch!
