    Dryas Julia Butterfly by Dee

These are some from Dee from our day at Studley Butterflies. Like me, she shot in manual mode but rather than a ring flash she used a canon 430 EX on the hotshoe with a diffuser and just as effective.

First the caterpillar and then a couple of the butterfly

Concentrate on equipment and you'll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the light's magic colours and your images will stir the soul. - Jack Dykinga
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography- George Eastman

If it weren't for the missing section of the rear antenna #2 would edge it for me. They're all great shots but overall it's #3.

it is there Russell but hidden in the shadows - I could have brought it up a bit more with the shadow/highlight tool but i wanted to keep the background dark
