    So near - Dragonfly

    I managed to get reasonably close for once and so nearly got the photo I've been hunting for for ages - just needed to close down a tad more so the wings were sharp - but I'm pleased with my effort as its the best so far

    That ain't far off being cock on mate. Lovely separation on the background. Better than my efforts which so total, none

      Not bad at all - a female red veined darter - we have seen and shot lots of males this week but not seen a female yet

        just needed to close down a tad more so the wings were sharp - but I'm pleased with my effort as its the best so far
        f8 would have helped but it mainly the sun glinting off the wings that make them appear to be not as detailed

            Its the best I've been able to get although wasn't happy with the wings - I'll try tracking her down about and going for F8 - ta

                    Its better than that moment, when you're crawling through brambles and you've just put your knee is something yucky... and they fly away.
