    using a 600mm focal length for close up /macro work has its own problems in depth of field control ,learning curve but getting there

    Looks very soft at one end Jeff. To be honest, the 150-600 is much too heavy for macro work so if I am not using my macro lens, my 300 f4 and converter will continue to be my choice - much better results as I think I have shown with recent posts of the mayflies

      not having a 300 is the main problem stan ,i have a 70-200 and 1.4 tc which was to have done but only if its with you

        The center is sharp but as Stan pointed out the ends are soft. But nice effort Jeff

          Considering its at 600m Jeff I thinks its done a pretty decent job, if it had been square on instead of at an oblique angle it woud have all been in focus, just shows what this lens is capable of
