a cracking image, well timed too. Is the "Spotty" one the pup?
(reminds me of time I spent walking the Ythan estuary when staying at the Udny Arms in the early '80s - is it still there by any chance, they used to do super food!

As far as I know, the Udny Arms is still there.
There were quite a few spotty ones - in fact there was a wide variety of colours amongst them.
Not too sure if the spotty one was a pup as it was as big as the rest of the adults.
A lot of the pups were bluish in colour.
