Another moment of excitement on Hengistbury this morning when I spotted my first wild weasel up there. It was moving fast so I only managed a couple of grabbed shots and even 1/1000th sec wasn't fast enough to stop motion blur, but I saw "her"? and got her.

Re: Weasel in the Wild
thanks for the comments everyone. I do see them in the wild ocassionally but never here before and never with my camera so it did rather make my morning (even though it is a poor shot compared to what is possible under more controlled conditions).
I'm up to the BWC in a week or so, maybe I will see there's and get a better image thenMy camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Re: Weasel in the Wild
I keep getting the odd duplicate now and then, for no apparent reason. Anyone have any clues why?Last edited by oldcanon; 15-04-2012, 19:33.My camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Re: Weasel in the Wild
all you normally see is a small, rippling piece of furry rope, shooting along the ground or though the leaves (which was the case here). I was lucky that it had a few feet to reach cover so had the time to frame and shoot.
It always amazes me that something so small can kill a rabbit and drag it back to its denMy camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

With all that time available to you, you didn't need the camera Colin, just a sketch pad!

Amazing shot, even though there is a slight blur, it's still impressive.Concentrate on equipment and you'll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the light's magic colours and your images will stir the soul. - Jack Dykinga
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography- George Eastman

Re: Weasel in the Wild
Wow what a coincidence , I saw a least weasel too this Sunday ! (I think your is a least weasel due to entirely red tail) .
I was a very lucky sausage as I had my 550d in hand with 400mm on the front got a nice "headshot" of the thing .
Was surprised at the sharpness of the lens (just got it 10 days ago) , lot of detail , especially as these least weasels are only 5 inches long at most !
Will have a go at JPGing the image and posting it here , any tips for a watermark I am a bit paranoid about putting my shots on the web ?
