    One from Marwell

Cory and I took a trip down to Marwell Zoo yesterday - didn't have the best of days photography wise - not a lot came out 'to play' and the cubs that I REALLY wanted to see were as close to a no show as they could have been, couple hundred miles round trip. . . . . may not do this one again, will wait and see.

My favorite shot of the whole day was right at the end, we decided to walk back around once more and caught the end of feeding time, this cheetah was 'chatting' to the ladies in the adjoining area and was still salivating after his tea

Kept a few photo's if you fancy taking a peek HERE

Marwell can be very hit and miss, sometimes you get nothing and then others THE shot - we are lucky that it is only 40 miles away !

The cheetah enclosure offers potentially the best shots although we have yet to get one and I think yours is a good one.

Still very good David. Are those white dots the end of the whiskers?

This is darned good, ticks all the right boxes for me.

That's what I thought when I took the shot but they are actually bits of spittle as he was 'chattering' to the ladies, like a domestic cat does through a window at the birds.

Stan, the cubs were right at the back on top of the cliff / rocks, might as well have been a mile away, this is the best I could do

Without the 2x extender and cropped in a fair amount - mum I think with the cubs next to her

One I wasn't sure about but it's growing on me - walked up to the top as far as we could then knelt down and had to manual focus through the leaves / bushes and the fence - with the extender so a 400mm handheld

          Thanks again guys

Lovely photo. You've really captured something of it's nature. Like the little splashes too.

Good place for cats is the WHF ...world heritage foundation who have photography days. They are in Kent near Headcorn. Trips by arrangement.

Thanks Sandra, have looked at the whf site before but to be honest - it's a little too much for me at the moment.

Hoping to get up to Marwell this week -- depending n a favourable weather forecast.
Is it worth trecking a tripod around with me for the day -- Do you regular Marwell visitors take one

Looking at the forecast - don't forget a hat it's going to be a scorcher. can't comment on the need for a tripod as I have never used one, depends how steady you are handholding I guess. Have fun and hope you catch the snow leopard cubs.
