Lion Cubs Lazy Set

Taken on the edge of the jungle at Knowsley Safari Park. This shot got me almost got me banned from the park, as the mother was just about 10 feet away from the passenger door with the window partially open for the lens. Lesson learnt I think as the park ranger reminded me of the dangers.

Yet ......... in Africa you can be in a jeep with no sides, or any other protection, and have lions walking within a few feet of you. Too close to photograph!

Colin is correct but I wonder if there may be a difference between wild big cats and ones in a safari park in that wild animals are accustomed to be fed dead meat from a vehicle once a day. Perhaps in safari parks they learn to associate vehicles with food (or vets with dart guns etc) and this presents visitors in cars with an added danger. Anyhow, a big cat getting into a car is not a nice thing to envisage - I suppose you have all seen the video on youtube 'leopard attacks guy in truck' ? Ouch !!!
