Gnu

[Ants - Anthony Robbins]

You all know then as Gnu, we call then "Wildebeest" (wildbeasts). They are the animals which migrate in there millions over the plans of the serengity and masia mara. I have a new thing lately where I take images into the sun, will post some more, for some reason I enjoy the challenge ;)

My settings where as follows:

Camera 1D MKIII
Lens 400mm f5.6
ISO 800 (reason for high ISO is to get a faster SS)
SS 1/320 (still a little slow for my liking but if supported then you can get away with it....sometimes)
AP f5.6
others;
Exp -1

Paul, I would also love to be able to put them up bigger but I don't fancy opening another account. Apparently the guys say if you double click the image it will open up bigger let me know if it does not work.

I like that and can appreciate being intruiged by an aspect of photography and trying it for a while.

For the Gnu, whoever changed it to Wildebeast? They really were stretching the imagination. It eats grass, has no fangs, claws, or tallons and quite frankly wouldn't even scare an Aardvark, so Wildebeast is hardly appropriate. It should stay as a Gnu.

Thanks Colin,

Quick correction, they are still named "Gnu", however here in South Africa the afrikaans word for them is "Blou Wildebeest". Directly translated (which is always a bad thing to do) means "Blue Wildebeast". So don't worry to much, it's just us locals nickname for them
