Snow White & the Seven Deer

This was taken a few weeks ago, the last chance for some relaxation before the chaos that is the lead up to Christmas.
I decided to take the 24-105 and leave the 70-200 at home. As is the way sat down on a stump looked up to see this lot and regretting not having the other lens with me. Santa has delivered me a new Hama Daypack 230 today so this shouldn't be a problem any more.

I have taken many a woodland scene, wishing for a dear peering around a tree trunk. Here you have it and then some. Nicely captured.

I don't think this would have been any better taken at 200mm, as twice the size would have concentrated on the deer, where at this size, it is the picture as a whole that is important.

What a great image. It goes to show that you need to go out with just 1 lenses and practice. Then you'll be able to get an image as good as this

This is the only one I have ever seen but their colour can range from very dark brown/black through to white.
