Deer in the dark - almost!

Yesterday fellow Forum member MicroWyred and I went in search of the two D’s – Dipper and Deer – in the Wyre Forest. After a few muddy miles we joined the Dowles brook and it wasn’t long before we saw a dipper. Unfortunately he/she was practising for the next dipper Grand Prix and we had no chance to lock on. This happened a number of times so we headed away from the brook in search of deer. We had a couple of sightings but would have needed 500mm plus to get a decent image. It was nearing sunset (without the sun) so with a ‘there is always another day’ we headed back. But our luck wasn’t out! And with Colin C’s advice ‘better a picture with noise than no picture’ we got our deer.
Incidentally looking through the viewfinder I could hardly see any detail – the magic of digital.

I really like all three photos but number 2 is my favourite. I think it's the peering between the trees that makes it my choice photo.

Didn't know they where like buses. You wait for one, then loads appear.

I hope, Stephen and Di, that the next time the 'buses' arrive they are in an ISO100 sunlit glade
