BIF, BOF & BOT at Warnham - Sunday 3 March (503 permitting!)

    Evening all!

Rob (HHCanon) and myself met up last Sunday at Warnham Nature Reserve for a day of fun and photography! Not been able to post for a week, so attempting in different forum thread! Here are the results from me! It should be noted it was a dull overcast day, and we mainly shot in wooded areas, so high shutter speeds were not the order of the day!

All using 7D, and 70-300 L IS USM, with EXIF shown before each shot.

This Heron surprised us early on, but we just about managed to shoot it! (BIF – bird in flight)
    1/1250, f5.6, 269mm, iso400.

After about an hour, I managed a half decent shot of one of the Long Tailed Tits... (BOF – bird on floor)

Fairly new to me... a Siskin! (BOT – bird on twig)

I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a male Reed Bunting!

    and the female Reed Bunting?

and finally, not a bird, but this little guy caught our eye! It's nice to get one of these in the 'wild' at last, rather than in a display case!

A good day out with quite a bit of laughter, so many thanks Rob for a very enjoyable day.

As ever, C&C welcome, and I hope you enjoy them!

    All the best, Mike.

I commmented on the vole before and its still as good as i thought at first. We saw one there today but the best shutter i could manage was 1/80 at ISO 800 so its gonna end up in the bin

Superb shots with excellent detail. You are correct in your Bunting ID.

Many thanks for stopping by and for the positive comments Stan, Stephen, Ian, David, Colin and Robin! I appreciate it.

Yep, pleased with these, but so many from the day were binned! Tricky conditions, but still learning something each time out, so I'm happy enough.

                Cheers guys. Mike.
