this is one of the main reasons we did a photo day at BWC as you can't get this sort of shot on a public day. All shot with 300 f4 and 7D, first 3 are from Dee and the others mine

yes i had hoped to have a practice run at the members evening but they did not get them out as they did at the members day in January - mind you had there been an opportunity at the members evening it would have meant over 1000 mouse shots to sort through rather than only 6/700

It is a very nice set and you both did well, but for me, that 1st image is a tad bit better than the rest.

Really nice shots from you both, love the first (sorry Stan!).

I think I'll have to look at a photo day at the BWC... whilst most of the enclosures are the most photo friendly I've encountered, there are still obstacles to some shots. You certainly seem to get much better access and staging at a photo day, at least, from what I've seen posted.

I think I'll have to look at a photo day at the BWC... whilst most of the enclosures are the most photo friendly I've encountered, there are still obstacles to some shots.

there are certainly advantages with being inside the otter enclosure where you can get a much lower viewpoint; in with the wildcats without the net getting in the way and with the squirrels being able to shoot them on a natural log. The foxes weren't so easy as for most we were shooting in the same area where they are normally fed and with 10 photographers there was very little room and we got much better shots with the youngsters through the wire on the members evening. The harvest mouse was great, as that is something you cant shoot on a public day and unlike the members day in January, you don't get people with their point and shoot's getting within an inch of the poor mouse (do you remember that?) - everyone kept their distance, so we were both able just to use our 300 f4's

Its a photo day we would hope to do again next year

Wonderful set Stan and Dee, #1 is my fave; the pose is a classic, the tail balances the stalk and the whiskers stand out beautifully.

Great stuff Stan and Dee, I really like them all but the very last one above is a great pose and it looks as if it's watching you from the corner of his eye.
