Lion Cub

Taken from a vehicle in the Sabi Sands, which adjoins the Kruger National Park. The sun was setting and the last rays were just catching the cubs face. It was an anxious wait hoping that the cub would look into the lens before the sun set. EOS 1D3 and 400mm f4 L DO lens.

Not sure why this image looks slightly soft when the original is bitingly sharp. It's posted direct from my PC. Any suggestions?

Not sure as to the sharpness, that is why others use different servers, but I do like the image as you have shown the cuteness of this cub.

thats why Brian - for some reason posting direct always loses sharpness which is why i never upload direct, always from a third party host such as flickr

Lovely shot, well done. Perhaps a tweak more contrast would help?

Agree with Stan... not that I've ever posted direct... but I've heard it can be softer. Mind you, some don't like Photobucket for the same reason, but I'm happy enough with Flickr.
