      Re: Mouse

Really great detail and nice bokeh.

I notice you have detail in the foreground and the eye is sharp but then it blurs. Not quite sure how you managed that. It's like everything that should be sharp is sharp and everything else is blurred, which draws you in perfectly. Did you add some background blur in post?

it is all as shot apart from I would normally only sharpen the subject but it looks like I forgot to mask out that foreground strip. but most is down to the dpeth of field - there are 3 things that affect it, the aperture, eg, f 2.8 will have a much smaller dof than say f16, the focal length of the lens, the shorter the length the more dof you will have, eg 20mm compared to 300mm and finally the distance to your subject, the closer you are the less dof.

So with this shot, f5, 300mm and quite close all combine to give a very narrow dof

Another cracking image Stan. I'm impressed you got the whole of his tail in and still managed a strong composition.

Thanks Stan. It was the sharpness on the floor in the foreground that stumped me because the look immediately behind the mouse led me to think it was a shallow DOF so I couldn't understand how how you got the foreground so sharp.

                  Cracking shot as always.
