    Red Fox - close up.

My first real glimpse of a Wild Red Fox. It was about 8 feet from me, and I felt very lucky. I stupidly had the AF on normal with expansion and in reviewing the pictures who knows where the camera thought it should have been focusing on number one. I was pretty annoyed, anyway I tried to sort it in photoshop.

I love the first and third Paul, the catchlights, natural background and narrow dof really make the shots!

He/she looks really healthy which is good news too

Great set Paul , it looks to be close enough to smell. Were these taken with the 70-200?

Cheers guys. Yeah the 70-200 at 70mm no less. He/she came right up to me, I just had to stand there still. Felt dead sorry for it.

Great photos. Crisp focus and nice bokeh! I live in the city and had a fox in my back garden a couple of times. Never photographed it though.

Closest I ever got before this was picking a dead one off the road outside my house. Broke my heart as it had two cubs wandering about. Called the SSPCA and they came to deal with it.

Great set Paul. And a wonderful record of what sounds like a great experience for you. I see urban foxes slinking around every evening round my house, but none are as obliging as this.

I must admit. My luck comes from there being so much wildlife on the River Kelvin and being only a 10 min walk from it. The more I go, the more I see.
