Amazing Chameleon, great perch, but that background leaves a lot to be desired.

        Thanks Dave and Colin

but that background leaves a lot to be desired.
the photo day has evolved quite a lot since last year when we were on one of the first ones and they were just using either pink or blue studio backdrops so i thought this was a lot better and a bit more natural colour. We also shot against a high key white background. What do you think would be more suitable ?

Green in itself is fine Stan, but that particular one gives the effect of heavy noise and Jpeg artefacts. Is this better?

That is better - have you replaced it or just smoothed it

but that particular one gives the effect of heavy noise and Jpeg artefacts.
these needed very little processing butb the background is a watercolour painted card, not a lot of distance between it and the chalemeon and then of course the effects of the studio flash all conspiring to give it that mottled noisy look. Looks like i will have to sort out all the green backgrounds

Liked the originals, love the 'Colin Master Class' version. Really makes you focus on the subject!

Very, very nice... both of you!

Here is a similar shot but with the background smoothed using smart blur and then desaturated slightly. not quite as smooth as Colins but better I think ?

That's a good improvement, good image.

But what I want to know is when is Colin running the Photoshop courses for us? Loads of great tips and advice posted on various threads.
How much for a days tuition!

Hi Stan - very colourful - interesting to hear about the backgrounds used - prefer your edited backgrounds. I had to do the same when I went to one of their sessions last August. Regards John

The backgrounds are better than last year when they were mostly mottled studio cloths
