    More Squirrels.

A day out in London yesterday (25th) and during our walk through St James Park towards the Palace, we stopped and admired a few squirrels playing and it was surprising how close they venture to you.

This one came right up to me when i was bent down just after I took this picture - unfortunately too close then for me to focus with my 70-300 - although Im sure some tourists got a picture of him sniffing my camera LOL.

    EOS 1100D, 70-300mm lens
    300mm
    F5.6 (Aperture priority)
    1/400
    ISO 800 (Auto)
    Handheld

Then, another one decided to come exploring and rather than just go through the fence, he/she decided to climb up, peer over and then climbed over. Kind of reminded me of a nosey neighbour peering over the fence to see what was going on:

    EOS 1100D, 70-300 lens
    135mm focal length
F9 (Aperture priority) - thought i'd dialled in lower but didnt have time to check
    1/200 sec
    ISO 1250 (Auto)

Thanks in advance for comments. Feedback gratefully received.

You've captured a great pose with the second one - I like it!

Much as I dislike these imported tree rats, that second one is rather cute and well placed in the frame.

A hardly ever bother with the greys but thats only because i am spoilt with easy access to the more photogenic reds but i do like the second pose which would probably look even better as a portrait crop

                Thanks for looking everyone.

Stan, I'd prefer to photo reds but must admit not seen any for years, all greys near me.

Will look at doing a portrait crop shortly.

Agree with other comments about#2. The portrait crop works extremely well.

Nice set showing them in their environment 👍.

I'm with Colin on how humans introduce foreign species in to countries then nature takes over to the detriment of the original in country species. Allegedly this variety make great Davey Crockett hats (for those of us old enough to remember said person)
