    Glen Muick Stag

I spotted this chap in the distance when driving back down Glen Muick after visiting Loch Muick. After about 30 minutes I had some shots from between 100 and 400 yards away which, at the end of my 70-200 lens were fairly small in the frame. After he'd moved off and I returned to the car, I came across him again standing on the road. He then moved on to the bank at the side, and I got to around 25 feet away at the closest. These were taken from the car, in gear and engine running for a quick get away, but he wasn't spooked at all.

Thanks Ian - yes its a pity about the antler tips but I'm just glad its in focus - it a bit disconcerting when you're this close to a wild animal on his patch

nice one ,they can turn so quickly at this time of year so caution is advised in rutting season

I too like the second as unfortunately the horns have been cut off on the first pic. However, both are very sharp and nice.

                              Outstanding!

Yep it's a shame you clipped the antlers BUT who cares, it's sharp with great natural colour - a framer for sure. #2 is just screaming 'CANVAS'
