I have been laid low with a second bout of flu/cold and advised to remain indoors, keeping warm. So I thought I would look at some of my old pictures and process & post some images that might interest the members. South Africa is perhaps my favourite African country having worked in West Africa for some years. The scenery is simply stunning and hence the name "the Rainbow country". It was Paul Kruger who set up the KNP in 1893. He then called it the Sabie National park but it's original name was changed to honour Paul Kruger.

(ii) The vehicle I travelled in- a private safari, with one of the Directors of KNP- Johann Bopie by the side of the vehicle. Note the vertical ladders which you have to climb to get into the vehicle.

(iii) The Charging elephant. Note that elephants do not run down slopes or run up inclines. So this elephant stopped at the top of the flat land and there was a slope down to my vehicle which was on the dirt track.
