    Nose to Nose

I suppose rats breed like mice and rabbits as there seemed to be a lot more about on Saturday than 3 weeks ago. Caught these two together, shooting this time with the 70-200 and 1.4x

A nice shot of detested vermin!!. Pity it was a camera and not a rifle

They are obviously not scared of humans, as you must have been quite close with 210mm.

only when they are in your house or the sewer. I think it is a misconception as these, as well as feeding spent a lot of the time cleaning and preening

very close, just in front of the hide

I'm not so sure the local farmers around here would agree with you Stan, as they class them very much as vermin. Rats pee as they walk, leaving a trail of Weil's disease on grain sacks etc, that they gnaw into. If it gets into a cut or graze on your hand, you are in trouble.

Having a garden that adjoins farmland, we sometimes see a rat or two in the garden, so I feed then with delicious rat poison, and then we might not see anymore for weeks.

However, still a nice detailed shot Stan.

I had forgotten about the farmers , so I will just say they make an excellent photographic subject on the nature reserve
