    Eskrigg Red

Had a couple of hours at Eskrigg Nature Reserve in Lockerbie.
Plenty of Squirrels about, tufts not showing on most.

ISO cranked up due to poor light

Lovely! I actually prefer IMG_0071 on your Flickr feed over 9752 because the DoF is a little shallow in 9752 and it detracts a little for me. 9759 is great though. (Looking at 0071 though, once you've seen 'it', it's hard not to notice it every time, you'll know what I mean if you view it).

                    Re: Eskrigg Red

I like his pose on the first Alan and although the eyes are sharp on the second, the narrow dof has left a lot of the rest out of focus

                    ISO cranked up
I often use ISO 1600 on Brownsea

Coming back to the first, I think that one could do with a boost to the shadows, something like this

                      Re: Eskrigg Red

Thanks everyone for looking, the first one originally was very dark and i brightened it to what i thought was acceptable, with the side light.
It's strange how monitors differ and i dont have access to anything for calibration.
The second image, I thought with the shallow depth of field concentrated the viewer to the all important eyes and i think it suited the squirrel staring straight at you.
All comments and advice much appreciated and taken on board.

                      Here's 0071
