    Oh deer.

Spotted this deer in our orchard this morning and tried to creep up close, but it was a little jittery and stood up ready to wander off. As I took the photo I thought it was raising its rear leg ready for a rapid get away, but now that I have looked at the image, I see it has a wounded foot and swollen infected leg, which might explain it not looking in the best of condition.

Poor creature. As one who currently has a swollen & infected leg I can sympathise. But at least I can take antibiotics.

Well done on getting the shot though.

And I trust you have already called the local RSPCA office to report it so they may catch / treat / cure him/her.

        Well caught nonetheless

Not much point I'm afraid - it was still walking as though unaffected and the local deer range far and wide over the land surrounding us - I suspect the chances of locating and capturing a specific individual are somewhere between zero and nowt.

lucky man, most of us only have a small garden

nice shot, looks quite happy despite his leg. As he is looking straight ahead you could afford to compose wit him more in the centre I would also take a bit of the top as well

Really nice shot, doesn't look good for its future I'm afraid.

Thanks for looking Scott - I am afraid I share your concern for its future.
